Business areas

From the air conditioning in a high-speed train to the precisely controlled air temperature in a data center, from the comfort of a home to the purified air in a clean room, ventilation is everywhere. Discover how ECOFIT ventilation solutions are useful in a wide range of sectors.

EC technology

EC ECOFIT motors and fans combine high energy efficiency, low power consumption, and built-in intelligence to meet modern ventilation requirements. Manufactured in France at the ECOFIT factory in Vendôme, they comply with the European ErP directive, guaranteeing performance, reliability, and durability.

Based on EC (Electronically Commutated) technology, these permanent magnet synchronous motors incorporate an intelligent electronic control system driven by a microcontroller. This design eliminates the slip losses associated with traditional AC motors and ensures high efficiency across the entire speed range, resulting in real energy savings.

EC ECOFIT motors offer precise control (0–10V, PWM, dedicated software). Their integrated electronics provide real-time monitoring to ensure safety and reliability.

Available in several power ratings (up to 300 W), ECOFIT EC motors are integrated into several fan ranges: single or double inlet centrifugal fans, backward fans, and axial fans.

FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About How an Industrial Fan Works

1. What is the basic principle?

The operation of an industrial fan is based on converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. An electric motor (the core of the system) drives a rotating impeller or propeller. This mechanical movement generates airflow by creating a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the unit. This produces the airflow required to ventilate, cool, or remove pollutants (dust, smoke, vapor, or humidity).

2. What technical characteristics should be monitored?

Each unit has its own performance characteristics defined by its airflow curve. The key factors to consider to ensure operator safety and regulatory compliance are:

  • Airflow rate: Indicates the volume of air moved per unit of time (e.g., m³/h).
  • Static pressure: The fan’s ability to overcome the resistance of a duct or filter.
  • Rotational speed: Directly influences noise levels and component wear.

3. Single-phase vs. three-phase power supply: what are the differences?

The choice of electrical power supply depends on the space to be treated and the required power:

  • Single-phase (230V): Ideal for small installations such as garages, workshops, or residential use. It is the standard for small wall-mounted or tabletop fans.
  • Three-phase (400V): Used in industrial environments for machines requiring high power and constant torque. The advantage is better energy efficiency over long operating cycles.

4. What are the different types of fans?

Depending on the airflow objective, several categories can be distinguished:

  • Axial fans: Designed for moving large volumes of air at low pressure (e.g., wall-mounted fans or industrial ceiling fans).
  • Centrifugal fans: Used to propel air through duct systems requiring higher pressure.

5. How do you choose and install your industrial fan?

Although this section does not specifically address complete industrial ventilation systems, it is still useful to compare available options to choose the best industrial fan at the right price for premises or warehouses. Here are a few recommendations:

  • Environment: For large warehouses, opt for an oversized ceiling fan or a robust black metal industrial air circulator for durability.
  • Installation: A wall-mounted fan frees up floor space, while a pedestal model offers greater flexibility.
  • Housing material: Metal is preferred for industrial applications, while plastic may be sufficient for lighter-duty uses.

Expert tip: Do not hesitate to consult the detailed technical datasheet or request a ventilation quote to obtain a high-performance solution tailored to your industry.
